"Little Black Dress"
My “little black dress” shoot is all about giving women an excuse to take time out for themselves. It's about the celebration of woman and feeling good about ourselves. I started this shoot idea in September 2016 by inviting local women from Hurstpierpoint to come and join my "Little Black Dress" project. 20 women took part and it was a massive success. I can't believe how many women told me how good it made them feel for all different reasons. Women across the spectrum of age and size came along and each one's beauty shone out. Please take a moment to watch my short photo film below to see results from that first shoot with 20 women.
You can choose either a studio or a location for this celebration of woman shoot. What you’ll find is that I'm friendly and easy going and you will soon feel relaxed and comfortable being photographed. Once I have fully edited your images you will be invited back to view them in my studio. I will be on hand to help you choose your pictures and the beautiful products I offer to show your images off in the best way.
I recently photographed Lyn. Lyn didn’t like having her picture taken but decided to give it a go. Lyn is a grandmother to her 5 grandchildren. She works hard and always gives her time to others before herself. So I wanted to give Lyn a little bit of “me time”. She came for my “Little Black Dress” shoot which is all about the celebration of woman. As the shoot went on she relaxed, and relaxed more and then started to really enjoy herself. She suddenly felt a different person from her “granny self” and really let her hair down. So “granny Lyn” turned into “rock chick” Lyn and all within an hour. She really enjoyed the liberating experience. However, when she later saw the photographs of herself, she just couldn’t believe it was her. She carried that smile for a long time after that afternoon.
