portraits to preserve a moment in time
I feel excited when I create great photographs which people love. Some people say, “I don’t like having my picture taken” or “I’m not very photogenic”. However, after a portrait photography shoot with me, I’m often told how much they’ve enjoyed the experience. Then when they see the pictures I’m told that somehow, I’ve managed to capture them in a way they like. I work in a collaborative way by chatting and understanding you and putting you at ease. I want you to enjoy yourself and we’ll have some fun creating beautiful portrait images together. This is my approach and I find it produces the best and most natural photographs, that let your personality shine through.
"An amazing experience had by our family in the cube. All 6 of us had such an enjoyable time and couldn't be more happy with the results. Louise made us all feel relaxed and captured some lovely natural photos of us all. The hardest part was choosing the final photos for the picture as they were all amazing. Thank you so much for everything. 100% recommend this to everyone I know." Helen, Haywards Heath.
If I can bring joy, fun and lasting memories to your life with my portrait photography, then I’m very happy.
I offer a variety of different portrait photo shoots, from babies and families to engagements and headshots. I photograph people both at my studio in Hurstpierpoint as well as out on location.

Special moments in time
I especially enjoy photographing couples at extra special times, for example, a silver and golden wedding anniversary. I want to create beautiful photography for you. We will first have a chat and decide on a suitable location. The location could be your garden, a park or somewhere you choose. Then we will meet up on the day and I will make you feel relaxed and comfortable. I’m down to earth and putting you at ease is what I’m good at. Then we will spend around an hour taking a variety of pictures.

After the shoot, I will fully edit all the images. You will be invited to my studio in Hurstpierpoint where you will enjoy seeing all your finishes images in a gorgeous slide show to music. I will be able to guide you through the different options to display your images. I have a variety of beautiful frames and albums to choose from.

Family Portrait Photography
capturing families as they grow
Family portrait photography is so important. Children grow and change so quickly that before you know it, they’re all grown up. You probably take hundreds of photographs of your children and that’s great. Do you get them printed? Do you put those pictures on your wall or in an album? Will they still be there in years to come to look back on the memories?
One thing I love doing when I visit my parents is pulling the family albums out. I love looking back over the years and reliving those magical times together. Me, my brother and sister on the beach, In the garden, having lunch by the side of the road “somewhere in France”.
Beautiful Wall Art
I create beautiful high-quality photographs of your family, printed by a professional lab. I hand them to you fully finished and ready to hang on your wall. All you have to do is decide where you want to hang them.
The “Cube” family photography
You’ll love making shapes and squeezing into the cube. It's a cool concept which looks stunning on the wall. The great thing is that you don’t have to worry about posing or feeling awkward. You and your family will create your own unique shapes. I will be there to give you plenty of ideas and guide you along the way.
A fun interactive experience
Everyone really enjoys the experience. Parents often tell me that their children haven’t stopped talking about it since. As well as creating shapes, my aim is to capture the little moments which show the love within a family. The photos with eye contact, family interaction, laughs and smiles always prove to be the most popular when people are choosing the images for their wall picture. My job as a family portrait photographer is to capture these moments. I take a wide variety of pictures so you can choose which ones you like best to create your own unique Cube picture. This is a new approach to family photography that creates a wow picture on the wall.
"Louise is really welcoming and easy to work with. We had great fun doing the photo shoot - think my daughter could have stayed posing all day. This was our first family shoot following the arrival of Jack and everything went smoothly even though we did have to stop for bottle feeding and nappy changes! We're ecstatic with our final photos and print, very good quality and well worth the money. We would highly recommend Louise." Emma M
In Celebration of Women
reveal your inner self
As a woman, you’re a mother, sister, wife, daughter, nurse and best friend. Sometimes even the best of us can feel subsumed by these many roles that we fulfil. When we get older we can feel invisible. It’s too easy to forget that a woman is selfless, empowering, inspiring, strong, dependable and beautiful. These are all the wonderful facets of being a woman that needs celebrating.
As a woman, I think it’s important to find ways to communicate the real woman within. Treat yourself to a studio shoot, a location shoot or the 'little black dress' experience. Find some time to re-discover and celebrate the inner you and experience how it makes you feel. I have had so many positive reactions to my photo-shoots for women. Try it for yourself.
Little Black Dress
My “little black dress” shoot is all about giving women an excuse to take time out for themselves. It's about the celebration of woman and feeling good about ourselves.
It started as a project
I started this shoot idea in September 2016 by inviting local women from Hurstpierpoint to come and join my "Little Black Dress" project. 20 women took part and it was a massive success. I can't believe how many women told me how good it made them feel for all different reasons.
Women across the spectrum of age and size came along and each one's beauty shone out. Please take a moment to watch my short photo film below to see results from that first shoot with 20 women.
Studio or location
You can choose either a studio or a location for this celebration of woman shoot. What you’ll find is that I'm friendly and easy going and you will soon feel relaxed and comfortable being photographed.
Once I have fully edited your images you will be invited back to view them in my studio. I will be on hand to help you choose your pictures and the beautiful products I offer to show your images off in the best way. A memory box of mounted prints is a special favourite, just for you.

My approach with headshots is simple; I will make you feel relaxed and comfortable to get the best images. As a headshot photographer, I want to make your session relaxed and enjoyable.

Frequently Asked Questions
The best advice is to wear what you would like to see in your photographs. Your pictures are going to be on your wall for many years so do give the colours and styles some thought. Think about how you will all look together and if the colours work well as a family shot. Other than that, wear what you feel comfortable in.
Once you’ve booked your portrait session with me, you will receive an email confirmation along with a receipted invoice. After the shoot, I will fully edit all the images. We will meet again at my studio where you will be able to enjoy seeing all your images set to music in a beautiful slideshow. This is when you will be able to choose from a range of fully finished wall art, albums and keepsake products to best show off your memories.
This all depends on the type of shoot you have but the most popular item for family photography is a large wall hung picture which looks stunning above a sofa. Albums are very popular as are modern multi-image wall art frames.
Portrait Photography Studio
Where to find my studio
My home photography studio is the entire top floor of my house in Hurstpierpoint. This is where you will come for a studio shoot. It’s also where you will be invited back to view your photographs and see my beautiful range of wall art, albums and products to display your images.
Hurstpierpoint is a pretty village with lots to offer. You will find cafes and pubs which offer good food as well as a range of independent shops. Hurstpierpoint is easily reached by car, being just off the A23, 10 miles north of Brighton. Street parking is easy and we have a small children's park opposite which families often enjoy after their photo shoot.
