Loujise Sullivan

Hi, I’m Louise. I’m down to earth, fun and most importantly I’ll make you feel comfortable in front of my camera. That’s what I care about, making you feel good and of course giving you the best photography too. So for me, they go hand in hand. To get great pictures with real feeling it’s important that I make you feel at ease and relaxed. We’ll definitely have a laugh too. Although I’m professional about my job, it’s also about having fun and enjoying every moment.

My love of photography comes from my love of looking at photographs and the memories and stories that unfold with every picture. I still do it now. I’ll turn up at my mum and dads house and start digging out the old albums. I turn the pages very carefully so the photos don’t fall out from the old dried up glue that no longer holds them in place. I love looking back at my parents wedding album with the muted colours of the 60’s or the photos and my brother, sister and I growing up. I’m transported back to the moment each picture was taken and I relive it remembering the things that happened surrounding that moment.  I believe so strongly that we need to preserve our memories so that generations to come can also look back and have these feelings of identity of where they’ve come from. I heard recently that more photos are taken each day on Instagram, than were taken in the entire 1900s. But, at the same time we are becoming a “lost generation” in printed memories.

My family

I live with my husband Richard and our three cats Tilak, Tika and Milton, in Hurstpierpoint, a village next to the South Downs just north of Brighton. I also have two grown up stepchildren, Andrew and Charlotte. A few years ago, we decided to have a “grown up gap year” and moved to Cornwall. One year turned into two amazing years living in a converted barn and enjoying a slower pace of life. I’d describe myself as a cocktail maker, food lover and curious about everything. I’m definitely a foodie. Mostly though I love conjuring up new cocktails and you’ll find us on a Friday night playing old board games like Mastermind and drinking my cocktail creations. My other love is unusual shoes. My current favourites are my gold brogues and my gold glitter and pink ribbon lace ups!

Mark and Steph’s January winter wedding was cold but sunny. They’d originally planned on a summer wedding but then decided why wait, they just wanted to get married. Sussex wedding photography – BHASVIC tea party wedding – Jenny and Viv

Quirky and kitsch was the theme of Jenny and Viv’s family orientated wedding. Jenny spent a long time collecting retro and kitsch cups and saucers for their Brighton tea party wedding. Informal and family orientated was the way they planned it. They wanted documentary wedding photography only with no formal pictures at all. Most of […]
