Family and Portrait Photography In Sussex

I specialise in photographing people because I like people. I get a lovely feeling when I create great photographs which people love. The best bit for me is when I hand over your photographs and I get comment like “I feel a bit emotional” and “I really love them” This is why I love my job.

Some people say, “I don’t like having my picture taken ” or “I’m not very photogenic”. However, after a shoot with me, I’m often told how much they’ve enjoyed the experience. And when they see the pictures I’m told that somehow I’ve managed to capture them in a way they like. I work in a collaborative way by chatting and understanding you and putting you at ease. I want you to enjoy yourself and we’ll have some fun creating beautiful images together. This is my approach and I find it produces the best and most natural photographs, the true you.

"We had an amazing engagement photo shoot with Louise and we are very pleased with the outcome and her friendliness and professionalism. She made us feel relaxed and natural during the session. I would strongly recommend." Chris C - Google

If I can bring joy, fun and lasting memories to your life with my photography, then I’m very happy. I offer a variety of different photo-shoots, from babies and families to engagements and headshots. I photograph people both at my studio in Hurstpierpoint as well as out on location.

Studio

My home studio is the entire top floor of my house in Hurstpierpoint. Hurstpierpoint is pretty village with lots to offer. So if you are travelling a distance, you will find cafes, pubs which offer good food as well as a range of independent shops. Hurstpierpoint is easily reached by car, being just off the A23, 10 miles north of Brighton. Street parking is easy and we have a small children's park opposite which families often enjoy after the shoot.

FAQs

“What should I wear to a shoot”?

I always tell people to wear what they would like to see in their photographs. Your pictures are going to be on your wall for many years so do give the colours and styles some thought. Think about how you will all look together and if the colours work well as a family shot. Other than that wear what you feel comfortable in. Facebook

“So I’ve booked a shoot session, what actually happens next”?

Once you’ve booked a session with me, you will receive an email confirmation along with a receipted invoice. After the shoot, I will fully edit all the images. We will meet again at my studio where you will be able to enjoy seeing all your images set to music in a beautiful slideshow. This is when you will be able to choose from a range of fully finished wall art, albums and keepsake products to best show off your memories.

“What are your most popular products”?

This all depends on the type of shoot you have but the most popular item for family photography is a large wall hung picture which looks stunning above a sofa.  Albums are very popular as are modern multi-image wall art frames.

“How much does a photography session cost”?

For a one hour studio or location shoot, the session fee is £100. This covers my time on the day, my time editing your images and preparing them to be viewed. It also includes the viewing/ordering appointment.  From time to time, I offer promotions on Facebook. If you’d like to be kept informed about promotions and special offers please “like” and follow my page, Louise Sullivan Photography

“Do you sell digital files”?

I believe that a photograph is not a photograph unless it is printed. This is why all my products are fully finished and ready to hang on the wall or look at in an album. So many people who have purchased digital files in the past have told me that they got put away in a drawer and always meant to get them printed… but never did. It’s for this reason that I don’t sell digital files. I offer the full service and hand over beautiful pictures when you come to collect your photographs.

Sussex Wedding Photography – Horsham Registry Office Wedding – Mark and Steph

Mark and Steph’s January winter wedding was cold but sunny. They’d originally planned on a summer wedding but then decided why wait, they just wanted to get married. Horsham registry office is a Grade II listed Georgian building overlooking beautiful grounds and Horsham Park. I love Georgian buildings with their elegant tall windows and symmetrical […]

Sussex wedding photography – BHASVIC tea party wedding – Jenny and Viv

Quirky and kitsch was the theme of Jenny and Viv’s family orientated wedding. Jenny spent a long time collecting retro and kitsch cups and saucers for their Brighton tea party wedding. Informal and family orientated was the way they planned it. They wanted documentary wedding photography only with no formal pictures at all. Most of […]
