Fun-loving Sussex Documentary Wedding Photographer

Capturing the emotions of your wedding day

Hi, I’m Louise, a creative documentary wedding photographer. Passionate about capturing the special moments of your wedding day, so that you can relive them forever.

First, I want to say, massive congratulations. It’s such an exciting time, planning a wedding. I love getting to know you and, I often feel that I’m going on the adventure too. By the time the big day arrives and, I’m capturing it with my camera, I am as emotionally involved as the other guests. As a documentary wedding photographer, my images express the emotion of your day, as it all happened. It’s not unheard of that I shed a little tear of happiness too.

Fun-loving Documentary Wedding Photographer

People have told me many times that I am down to earth and fun, which is such a compliment. The most important thing to me is that you feel relaxed when photographed. It’s so lovely, as a wedding photographer, when people tell me that I made them feel comfortable.

I photograph weddings in a candid documentary style. Telling your unique wedding day story as it happens. Being creative with light is part of my style. So a few beautiful portraits and formal shots are part of the coverage too if that’s what you’d like.

"Louise Sullivan, you were truly fantastic and professional, it also felt like you were one of the family and wedding party, you were unobtrusive and yet you got right in amongst us and captured our wedding beyond our dreams and expectations. It goes so so quickly that I keep revisiting the gallery as I haven't had time to choose my albums yet... talk about falling on your feet... we really did. Thank you so much." Karla, Bride

My Approach to Documentary Wedding Photography is Simple

We will have already met and talked about your day and your style. I photograph the day as it happens, fly-on-the-wall style. My style is that of documentary wedding photography. Also often referred to as wedding photojournalism or reportage wedding photography. Capturing those special moments as they happen is my job. Telling the story of your wedding day with unobtrusive, candid photography.

Your Wedding Day Captured

It’s the little moments as well as the big ones which make the day so memorable. It’s the ones where your loved ones see you for the first time in your wedding dress, which brings a tear to their eye. The time that your best friend trips over your wedding dress, almost spilling her glass of champagne. The expression on your face when you’re listening to an emotional speech. Those captured moments that bring it all to life again. As a documentary wedding photographer, I’m here to tell the story of all these special moments. I’m relaxed but attentive, and I put people at ease. As your documentary wedding photographer, I’m 100% focused and in the zone. Your guests may think I’m another guest with a camera because I won’t interrupt the flow of your day. If you’d like me to create some beautiful couple shots, that’s lovely, but I won’t take you away from all the fun for long.

I’ve never asked anyone to “smile” at a wedding but I have photographed tears!

Memories of your Wedding Day that will last many lifetimes

Imagine, in years to come when you are looking back on your wedding day. When your children ask you about mummy and daddy getting married. Your grandchildren are pouring over your wedding album. Asking you all about it. You'll still get that warm feeling like the day it happened. And, the album of your wedding day photographs will become a family heirloom.

Most wedding photographers do not include an album but will charge around £500 or more extra. I work only with the best suppliers, using archival quality print and stylish albums.

To have a Wedding Photo Album or not?

Because I believe that “a photograph is not a photograph unless it is printed”, all my clients receive a beautiful individually designed wedding album.

My Wedding Collections, including the couple's album, start from £1475. Want to find out more, please get in touch and let’s talk about your wedding day. To see what is included in the basic Documentary Wedding Photography Collection click here.

Pre-Wedding & Engagement Photography

Your life ahead together

If you’ve got engaged, congratulations. It’s one of the most exciting times of your life as you plan your wedding and look forward to a life together. Celebrate this moment and mark the occasion with an engagement photo shoot.

Romantic locations for an engagement photography shoot

Location shoots are the most popular option. Locations vary between romantic Brighton seafront to nostalgic Bluebell Railway. You may choose to go to a park, the woods or something different around urban Brighton, or wherever else. You can choose a special place or the place you got engaged. Whatever the location, it’s your choice.

Relaxed pre-wedding photography session before your big day

Thinking about your wedding photography? A pre-wedding engagement shoot is a great way to get used to being photographed ahead of the main event. Pre-wedding photography can be a really relaxed experience and a chance to have some fun too. You don't have to have booked me for your wedding photography to have an engagement photo shoot with me. A great way to see if you like me, my style and my photography before making that decision.

For a one-hour studio or location portrait photography shoot, the session fee is £100. Want to find out more, please get in touch and let’s talk about your wedding day. To see what is included in the fee click here.

Thank you so much for our engagement photos. They are stunning, and we love them loads. Having never done something like this before we were a little nervous about having forced photos but Louise put us at ease instantly and took some really great shots. Will definitely be recommending to friends and family.” Sammy L
