Hurst Open Studios 2016
Hurst Open studios is the time when local artists and photographers open their houses to the public and exhibit their work. This year it opens on Saturday 17th September and then on Sunday 18th and again the following weekend, Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th.
I will be exhibiting all the images shown in my gallery below. You will see images from my "Impressions of Nature" series which combines my love of photography with my love of watercolour paintings. I have attempted to merge the boundary between the two, creating images with an impressionist look by using intentional camera movement. By using this technique, I have produced work which has the movement of watercolour paint but still retaining the detail of a photograph. I will also be showing images from my "mist" series, trees in the mist all taken locally around Hurstpierpoint and Devils Dyke in early morning.
My husband, Richard, will also be exhibiting his photography at the same location. Richard's work focuses on his keen observational skills with street photography as well as landscapes and architectural images.
For more information about the other exhibitors please see the Hurst Open Studio website and Facebook page. Our open house can be found at 54 The Grange, Hurstpierpoint, BN6 9FD. Open between 10am and 5pm.
